Only Child (and 35 weeks)

Eating "duts" and watching football with dad. For some reason I think it's really funny that he loves peanuts.

Yesterday as I was playing with Clark I realized that these are his last few weeks (days?) as an only child. I feel pretty bad for him, and I'm going to miss having so much one-on-one time. And it's weird that he's the only one who will ever get all that time and attention. So as we were dancing in the kitchen while I made dinner and he fed himself string cheese and crackers, I wondered why the heck we were starting all over again. Ya ya I know why, I just really love the stage Clark is at and the bond we have and how easy it is to drag him along wherever I go.

Though it suddenly occurred to me the other day that maybe he wouldn't be jealous and resentful of the babies and extra naughty for attention. Maybe he would actually love them, and want to help me hold bottles and retrieve binkies and burp clothes. He loves other babies and lately he'll help me do something or drag the broom around saying "helper, helper!" So here's hoping!

And here's my big ol belly at 35 weeks. At least it's still round. I'm waiting for the torpedo. Llll
And in case you need an extra confidence booster this week, these are my fat feet and cankles when I'm on them too long.

34 weeks

I spend a lot of my time at the OB these days (at least twice a week). Last week Baby B went from being feet down to head down, back to feet down! How she managed that, I'll never know. There is no room in there for flips! I sure hope she'll flip once more though, because the few days they were both head down were way more comfortable. And it would make for a smoother delivery of course.
I don't think this picture really does my belly justice, but here it is

Won't it be sad when I'm not taking weekly selfies?

Last week

-we closed on our house (finally!). Then started making it livable--think baby poop yellow/green and deep red walls, filthy carpet, and all appliances and light fixtures ripped out. At least we got a great deal! My family and Jacob's mom were SO nice to come slave away cleaning and painting while I could hardly help at all.

-Clark got deliriously ill. This was around the time his fever reached nearly 104

-We celebrated 4 years of marriage. Woohoo!

-I passed my glucose tolerance test! Thank goodness.

-I got huge

33 weeks. Don't mind the mess. I hate living out of suitcases!

31 Week Comparison

I thought I was starting to get pretty big at 31 weeks with Clark

...which is funny now.

I know I should be in awe at the beautiful miracle of life, etc, etc, but I'm just in a lot of pain. And depressed that even my maternity clothes are getting too small. And I swear if I'm ever pregnant with just one baby again, I will have NO complaints (except maybe if I get bad morning sickness).

Oh and while I'm complaining, I failed my glucose tolerance test this time (they make you do it twice with twins) and had to take the three hour, fasting test. It was really awful. And I hope I don't have gd.

Pictures

29 weeks. They're really picking on me lately. I'm just glad I don't have to go to work or school. Or anywhere besides Walmart.

We love the rain. And Arizona puddles that dry up in 10 minutes.

And I love being given rocks as an expression of love.

Babies Shower

How pretty are these cookies my sister EmmaLee made? They even tasted good!

27 Weeks- sitting down is not a good look for me. And Shelby is only one week less pregnant than me. What a difference!

My sisters and mom threw me a lovely little shower a couple weeks ago. Always fun to see all my friends and family and eat good treats. Always awkward to open gifts in front of people and hope I'm being enthusiastic enough. I really got a lot of cute things for these little girls, and it made me pretty excited.

I also had an ultrasound today (28.5 weeks) and she estimates that each baby weighs about 2 lbs 10 oz. I'm carrying around over 5 pounds of baby already! Plus 15 pounds of...other stuff. Someone buy me a mumu.

Getaway and 26 Weeks

Last week Jacob and I decided kind of last minute that we should hurry and do something fun/relaxing without Clark before I have these babies or am too pregnant to go anywhere. So we left Clark with the grandparents and drove to Carefree where we stayed at the Boulders Resort. It was really pretty and they drove us everywhere in golf carts and we ate lots of really good food. Jacob also scheduled me a maternity massage at the spa which was SO nice.
The last few weeks have been pretty hard on my body. In addition to the normal backaches and discomfort, there's a fiery, piercing pain shooting through my ribs every time I sit or lie for too long. So sleeping has not been going well. Oh well, these babies are worth it, and I'm getting more excited to meet them (but not any time too soon)!

Phone Dump

Here's some pictures of what we've been up to, which is pretty much nothing. Just playing with cousins and grandparents and such.

Feeding horses with Papa

Kids Club at the mall

He loves playing with Crew... until they start fighting and he get's offended or beat up. And he looks so much like baby Jacob in this picture.

He's had more treats in the last few weeks than in his whole life. Grandparent's know the way to a kid's heart.

Finally started "Les Miserables".

24 weeks!

20 Weeks

This was me a week ago. I'm getting pretty sick of taking these, but glad Jacob still forces me to most weeks, because I know it's always fun to look back on. Ya, I feel like I'm in my third trimester already. Crazy!

19 Weeks

19 weeks means I'm probably halfway, maybe more than (who knows with twinsies). I can't believe that! Luckily, knowing what we're having makes it soooo much easier to prepare and start collecting all the junk we need. This is funny because with Clark we were getting all our baby gear and said "well at least we only have to buy all this once". Hooray for Craigslist and garage sales and nice people!

Here I am at 19 weeks, attempting a classic creepy maternity pose:

17 Weeks and Cinco de Mayo

Aside from the size of my belly, really not much has changed this week. I love this part: I don't feel crumby, I look pregnant instead of just bloated, and am still not so big that it's hard to be comfortable. I also really love getting to feel little baby movements. I'm excited for how wild things are gonna get in there with two!

I'll even be so kind as to include my dainty profile this time ("yes, we've all got daddy's mommy's nose"):

It's nice when you're unloading groceries and remember you bought yourself a donut. And wearing pants that look like you forgot to wear pants from far away.

And here's the yummy Cinco de Mayo dinner Jacob made for us. We also celebrated by attending church and going to bed at 10 PM.

Clark loves our post-church photo shoots

Vain Sidenote: I HATE my hair right now. The "pixie" grew out so, so bad. Any suggestions?

16 Weeks

Here I am at 16 weeks. I'm still in amazement at how fast I'm growing! Yesterday I got to see the little guys (ultrasounds at every OB appointment are a definite plus!), and was really hoping we could see the genders, but they were both being pretty modest. Dang it. I hate waiting. With Clark I genuinely didn't care either way, and kind of had a "feeling" he was a boy, but this time I have no clue (except I had a dream of two boys, so maybe that's a revelation). I'm hoping for one of each.
Any guesses? I want to hear them!

R.I.P. Waistline

Welp, here I am at 15 weeks. I'm trying to forget the fact that this was me at probably 25+ weeks the first time around, because that's just scary.

And Clark's belly is growing quite nicely, too.

To the Beach

We took a trip to So Cal and stayed in some little beachside "cottages" on a military base on account of my brother is a dentist for the military. It  was great to see family, but Clark was SO grumpy the first few days and reminded me that "vacation" with a baby really isn't much of a vacation.

Most of the flights I've taken with Clark have been late at night so he sleeps the whole way, and it's wonderful. This time we had to go a little earlier. He screamed inconsolably for the entire descent. Usually a pacifier helps here, but we're done with those, so after trying ever other trick in the book I just sat there trying really hard not to cry while people gave me death stares--like listening to my child cry for 15 minutes had ruined their entire day, maybe even their entire life. Why didn't I just make him a stupid bottle beforehand?!

Oh well. On the beach he enjoyed crawling as far away from me as possible, which was fine until he started eating sand and seaweed. And then when his little cousins (and aunts and uncles and grandparents--ahem) would laugh, it turned into his favorite, hilarious game. What a mess. Things got much better once Jacob arrived a few days later, and we could take turns relaxing.

Clark also had a lot of fun observing his cousin Jack who's a few months younger than him (I've been trying to get him into babies). Almost every time he saw Jack, he would say "QUACK, QUACK, QUACK" the way he  does to his beloved stuffed duck. That's a good sign, right?

Ok, now the fun stuff.
(I remembered I like when people write on their pictures. So I'll copy.)
