The Paint Job

Here is the beast of a paint job mentioned in the previous post. Never paint your walls red and green. Just don't do it. Because this was the disaster we had to work with when we moved into our house.

And here is the nice, calm grey result.

Ok, I had to hold on to just a little chartreuse.

The whole staircase was also that lovely puke green, and even though most of the rest of the house was white, it still had to be painted because the walls were filthy. Maybe someday when I've decorated and cleaned my house, I'll give the grand tour...so never.

Unpacking

is like Christmas for Clark. (Those are brand new toys for all he knows).

And h-e-double hockey sticks for me. Though having movers haul all our stuff in and put everything in whatever room I directed them to was really nice. And of course our families helped a ton. Now it's just the slowly unloading random boxes and finding a place for everything phase. Which I hate, especially when "nesting" is starting to kick in and tell me that we MUST have everything done before babies get here. And my ankles/feet explode whenever I'm on them for more than 20 min, etc, etc. Loving our new house, though!
P.s. how cute is Clark's wavy hair when he gets sweaty?

P.s.s. how cute are my alien babies? (I know, they're just creepy to everyone who didn't create them).

Last week

-we closed on our house (finally!). Then started making it livable--think baby poop yellow/green and deep red walls, filthy carpet, and all appliances and light fixtures ripped out. At least we got a great deal! My family and Jacob's mom were SO nice to come slave away cleaning and painting while I could hardly help at all.

-Clark got deliriously ill. This was around the time his fever reached nearly 104

-We celebrated 4 years of marriage. Woohoo!

-I passed my glucose tolerance test! Thank goodness.

-I got huge

33 weeks. Don't mind the mess. I hate living out of suitcases!

Lately

Last week I said goodbye to our little house on Vineyard, and we were off to Mexico. We planned this trip a while ago and decided that since we'd be moving just a few weeks after we got back that Clark and I should just stay here. Neither of us would have been much help finishing up packing, and traveling with a toddler is a little stressful. Anyhow, we had lots of fun at my in-law's beach house in Rocky Point. Now we've just been hanging out at our parents' houses, and Clark is loving having so much new space to explore.

6 bags, a car seat, and a stroller: everything we could have possibly brought for free.

We'll pretend he was this happy for the whole drive down to Mexico.

These are just the pictures I got on my phone. Maybe sometime I'll get around to getting the real ones on here.

Around the Nursery

I keep thinking I should get pictures of our home, but the I think "no, I'm not done decorating yet." But I'm guessing I never will be, and I always regret not documenting the places we live--not to show off how stylishly we live (bahaha), just for memory sake. Hopefully someday when we're LOADED, we'll look back sentimentally on our humble beginnings. That's a joke too.

For starters, here are some details of Clark's nursery. I just wanted it to be kiddy and bright and make him happy (despite the tan walls that we can't paint over). Seriously, I see babies with fancier rooms than I'll ever have as an adult. Gag. So here's some nice phone pictures of my son's very cheap room.

I slaved over every one of those pom-poms

I like finding nursery art online, and then shamelessly copy-catting it.

These were way harder to make than they should've been, but they're nice and soft so it's ok when he pulls them down on himself when he should be napping.

stuff I found around my parents' house and garage sales

What else am I supposed to do with stuffed animals?
