Catch Up

So here is what last week looked like (courtesy of my SIL and her nice camera):

Tuesday, July 3

yes, I caved and got the mom cut.

Clark and I got Round 2 of the county fair since Emily wanted to go. I'm glad we did, because this time we got to see the pig races and "Mutton Bustin" where they put tiny kids (4 year olds!) on sheep and see how long they can hold on. I had the really bad idea of trying to avoid parking fees by parking at a "nearby" church. Walking back was torture as it was real hot and we got a little lost getting off the fairgrounds. We went straight to the mall to cool down.

Wednesday, July 4:

A national holiday and Jacob had to go to WORK. Demented. So Emily, Clark, and I explored downtown Pleasanton which was fun except that a lot of the little shops were closed for the holiday. So we did the only reasonable thing to do: spent the rest of the day eating junk and watching rubbish. When Jacob got home he made a little fire with his Father's Day gift and grilled us up some tasty chicken and corn on the cob. Then we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.

Thursday, July 5:

San Francisco! I was a little nervous about taking Clark to a big, dirty city and on all the public transportation especially without Jacob, but we ended up being o.k. Except it was a little difficult on the overcrowded cable cars. Also, we spent a lot of our time being lost and confused, but it was a fun adventure and at least we had our priorities straight and made it to Ghirardelli Square! Oh and Clark fell in love with a 40-year-old married woman on the trolley. He would not stop smiling and cooing at her.

This is how baby felt by the end of the week, and I don't blame him. He missed a lot of naps, and I felt pretty guilty for dragging him all over the place. They bounce back pretty quick though, and it was worth it for all the fun we had.

Thanks for coming Em!
Can't wait for our next visitors!
